A couple of years ago, I decided to study German so I tried something different.Since I love Dragon Quest III, being it one of my favorite franchised, is time I decided to use it to study German. It sounded a little strange. Using a video game to learn a language. But it worked. The towns, the quests, even the small conversations with characters became mini-lessons. Some sentences were hard to understand. Others were funny because they were so literal. I would pause, read again, and slowly understand.

Today, I wanted to start playing Dragon Quest III again, so I went to Google, searched for the ROM, and no success, because the original download link was down.
After insisting for a while, I started to think it might really be lost. Then I remembered my old Japanese PSP. I checked the memory card. And there it was. The ROM was still there. Seeing it again felt like finding an old memory.

A team spent a lot of time translating every menu and line of dialogue. Now others can enjoy it. You can learn a little German or just play a classic game.

It is strange how a fan translation can feel like a piece of history. Maybe it is the game itself. Maybe it is the care of the people who made it. Either way, the ROM is here. Waiting for anyone who wants it.
